Plus Size Couture

Plus Size CoutureDesigning a New World Brave - Women's Plus Size

Although the fashion world has been built on the idea of thin, thinner and thinner over the past decades, there has definitely been a huge revolution in recent years in particular, to include the The other half of our population - 50% of us who come in size 16 and over, full-figured world.

There have been many contributions to the revolution, of course, not the smaller is the change in the fashion industry itself. Two summers ago, officials from the runway in Spain literally refused to allow models under a certain BMI (Body Mass Index) to leg their orders on the podium during Fashion Week. What the fashion world finally realizes and embraces all my heart, is that there must be a standard in their industry that are no longer eating disorders and promoting self-destructive behaviors around food . superstars like in the movies and sports, they realize that their "top models" are indeed role models for youth. The side effect of what has been a new level of acceptance around the full figured woman.

This is great news for the world, and especially to women size over the U.S. (where we are literally half of the population). Not only definitively changed the conversation to health, instead of lean - but the most recent message is really one of self-acceptance and confidence, regardless of the size we are.

The first signs of a plus size has been increasingly accepted in the mainstream, and perhaps even admired by his proper name, became clear when it is well known for high-end designers such as Liz Claiborne, has started special divisions specifically directed to larger women (in Claiborne case, the line is called "Elizabeth"). We can not ignore the growing popularity of the full dressmaking, thought, like Richard Metzger, who dresses stars such well-known size than Oprah Winfrey, Star Jones and Camryn Manheim.

The size fashion revolution won over a very solid anchor for the month of September, again at Fashion Week in Milan, where popular designer Elena Miro started the whole show with a full featured sewing line. Miro has joined the ranks of those who create everything from dresses over size of jeans over and kissed the indisputable fact that beautiful women come in all shapes and sizes. And we have money to spend so beautiful! Darius Cordell Couture designs same size wedding dresses and formal wear over the full wedding party size or mother of the bride (or groom, of course).

The best advice comes from the creative group for tall women? Accent your best assets and stop trying to cover yourself from head to toe. Got great legs? Definitely go for short skirts and dresses and shorts skip! Love your sexy arms? show them in straight jackets and plus size dresses with thin straps. Whatever your assets, certainly dress and strut your stuff! Whether the bridge or on the sidewalk, looking great is just always in fashion.
